Visit Siena, San Gimignano and an authentic Chianti farmhouse and vineyard for lunch: All-inclusive day trip.

Tour Highlights

Tuscany in all its glory! There’s no place else on earth quite like the Tuscan countryside with it’s lush green rolling hills, expansive vineyards, and quaint little hilltop towns with their medieval architecture and cobble stone streets. Not to mention the authentic Italian cuisine and some of the finest wines anywhere.

We’ll visit the beautiful town of Siena with it exquisite architecture and impressive Duomo, the famous little hill-top town of San Gimignono with it’s sweeping vistas, and we’ll get to enjoy a lunch and wine-tasting at a Chianti farm and vineyard.

Starting in Florence, your professional guide will be with you all the way with interesting information about the sites along the way and the food and wine you enjoy. With our small group on an air conditioned transport, you’ll not only be comfortable and relaxed, but it will feel like you’re more on a family outing than a tour, plus you’ll have the time to ask all the questions you want.

After meeting your Tour Captain and private driver for the day in Florence, it’s off to Siena, but first we take a quick trip up to Piazzale Michelangelo, across the Arno, for the best view in all of Florence. We use only small vehicles, never more than 8 passengers, so that we can go to places the other tours will not take you to, such as one of our favorite spots off the beaten path where we will have lunch. When two vehicles are required, your Tour Captain will take turns in each vehicle so that everyone can get acquainted with the history and local customs that will make your day more full and enjoyable.

Siena then waits to charm you with its gorgeous medieval architecture. Somehow, as if by miracle, Siena was spared the bombing of WWII, and has some of the oldest architectural masterpieces in all of Italy. Your Tour Captain will give you the background of the town, and get you acquainted with it’s layout, pointing out the Piazza del Campo, the town square, and other important landmarks, along with tips on the best places to go. The town square is where the Palio horse races still take place each year. You’ll also learn why many of the buildings are so tall.

Your Tour Captain with give you tickets to the Siena Cathedral. Although stunning in its own rite from the outside, we highly recommend you go inside too, to take in the amazingly beautiful architecture.

Of course our trip is not complete without visiting the famous wine region! The Chianti area, famous for its wine with the same name, is a picturesque setting of lush green fields and vineyards set in the rolling Tuscan hills. You’ll get to meet one of the friendlies families around, and get a tour of their farm, vineyards and wine cellars before having a genuine Italian lunch and wine tasting. What you eat, of course, will depend on the season. Tuscan cooking is famously linked to their own local produce, using only the freshest ingredients, for the most delicious cuisine you’re likely to find anywhere!

Finally we wrap up our day with the quaint little hill-top town of San Gimignano, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Another beautifully planned medieval town, you’ll enjoy walking its streets in search of the perfect delicacy to take home with you. We highly recommend you climb the city’s campanile for another sweeping view of the Tuscan countryside.

You’ll cherish the memories of this day for a lifetime, and with a little luck maybe you can return again soon!
