Rome’s historic center and top sites with an expert guide. See the Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, the Pantheon and more. Plus a free gelato!

This twilight walking tour of Rome is a great way to be introduced to the Eternal City. You’ll see all the tops sites, like the Pantheon, Trevi Fountain (particularly lovely at twilight), the Spanish Steps, Piazza Navona, and more. You’ll also enjoy the nice selections of gelato.

We travel in true small groups of 16 or less, and with a local expert tour guide to enrich your Rome experience. This tour is perfect for the first-timers, as it will quickly immerse you into the best sites in the very heart of Rome. You’ll learn about this history, and the local customs, along with the best places to eat.

We begin this 2.5 hour tour at the lovely Spanish Steps. This site is well known as the place where Audrey Hepburn and Gregory Peck met in ‘A Roman Holiday’.

The Trevi Fountain, another famous landmark, is also on this tour. It was built by a local architect, and is the pride of Rome. Be sure to toss in a coin, or three (depending on your intentions – do you want to find your soulmate or return to Rome?) before we sample some delicious gelato!

Next, we’re off to see the Pantheon, but on the way we’ll see the Area Sacra, where Caesar was killed in 44 B.C. You’re guide will fill you in on the bloody details of that ancient scene. The Pantheon is a 1,900 year old engineering marvel to behold, and visiting in the evening makes for a much quieter, more relaxing visit. Again, your guide will make the history of this place come more alive for you. Just one of many things you’ll learn is how the Pantheon came to be the final resting place of Raphael.

We’ll end our twilight adventure together at the amazing Piazza Navona, Rome’s outdoor museum. Bernini’s ‘Fountain of Four Rivers’ is here, and is considered to be one of the most beautiful sculptures in all of Rome. Your professional guide will, once again, come in very handy here, explaining the meanings behind the artworks, where certain items came from, and why the piazza has such a strange shape, and how Bernini built the fountain to get back on the good side of a pope he had angered.

This true small group walking tour makes for a very relaxing and intimate experience that you’ll always remember and treasure, and your professional, friendly guide will make all the difference, giving you anecdotes and stories that brings the landmarks and artworks of Rome to life. Ask all the questions you want. Our guides love answering your questions! Want to know where to find the best pizza, just ask.
